A Peek into my Pregnancy Diary...

10/17/2010 10:33pm

Today Vince and I went to Starved Rock and Mattheissen State Park with Josh Keleher and his girlfriend Erin. He took a lot of photo’s of us & my pregnant belly with his professional camera. It was a lot of fun, and very tiring too! In fact, I was just about to go to bed but remembered that I haven’t wrote in my diary for a while. Today I am 30+5 weeks gestation. I’m still having braxton hicks contractions and have been since week 17 or so. Today during church I was having them more regularly and they were a little uncomfortable, so I drank a lot of water as soon as we left and laid on my left side and they seemed to have gone away.

Tonight, Vince and I heard your heartbeat for the first time with my little “BebeSounds” prenatal heart listener! It had not picked up anything discernible before now, other than bowel sounds and possible baby movements. :) I am glad you are doing well little Gracelyn! You are usually pretty nice to your mommy too - not too rough in there and not usually kicking me too hard. I can tell you’re a girl just because you’re gentle. I was thinking babies would kick much stronger & it would be uncomfortable more of the time, but I guess I still have a few weeks to go. I can’t believe there’s just about 9 weeks left! And if I would go earlier, then less! I hope you stay in long enough though and are not too early & have to go to the NICU. I want you to be safe and healthy.

OH! Your daddy set up the crib yesterday & I put together your cute little bassinet for our bedroom after washing all the linens. It is sooo cute! You will look adorable in it. I can’t wait to meet you little Gracelyn. You are a little precious angel - a gift from God - and you belong to Him - daddy & I just need to raise you. :) Love you baby cakes. xoxoxo ~Mommy

I am almost 33 weeks & can’t believe it! My belly is feeling “stuffed” with baby. Her butt is always pushing into my right ribcage making it ache, and her kicks are getting stronger (always felt on my left side). Today I actually said “ouch!” a couple times when she kicked my ribs!! I’m glad little Gracelyn is strong! That makes me happy! :) I’m gaining good weight (I believe a little over 20lbs now) and LOVE eating!!! I need to be careful to do some walking to even things out a little... ;-)

I was blessed by Colby Suits at my work who gave me a car seat/stroller set that is sooooo cute! It’s the Evenflo Aura Premier Travel System called “Once Upon a Time” and is in such good condition & so girlie! Even Vince said it was nice because it’s light & easy to carry, and the stroller is so smooth. God is so awesome how he’s blessed us with all the large items for Gracelyn.

A few days ago my neighbor’s daughter (close to my age) named Heather came over and helped me set up Gracelyn’s room (finished putting together her white dresser, and assembling her changing table I got for free from my mom). Heather was so motivating & I really couldn’t have done it all without her. It was a hard job for a preggie person. It is getting me so excited to meet her & dress her up in her cute little outfits. Which, by the way, I got SOOO many more clothes from our sweet friend at church, Karen Jern. We split up the clothes & I still feel like I have a TON (Colby had also given me a ton of baby girl clothes). So this is to remind people that they don’t have to get me any clothes!!! I think I am set in that area. :) I want to thank EVERYONE who has helped us prepare for our first baby. I’m getting a little anxious about the whole going back to work thing & stuff, but am glad I only work part-time. We're still praying that Vincent will get a better job at a closer location so he doesn't have to commute 4hrs/day and so we're at least able to have dinner together (he gets home around 8-10pm). Can’t wait to meet our little one..... ~Steph
